Price Monitoring

What is Price Monitoring?
Price monitoring is the continuous, automated tracking of product prices across competitor websites, marketplaces, and sales channels to understand how the market prices comparable products at any moment. It typically also captures stock availability, promotions, shipping costs, and seller information alongside the price itself.

Modern price monitoring platforms work in three steps: they collect public pricing data with web scraping infrastructure, match each competitor offer to the correct product in your catalog, and normalize the results into dashboards, alerts, and API feeds. Retailers use price monitoring to react to competitor price moves within minutes instead of days, while brands use it to see how their products are priced and presented across resellers.

Price monitoring is the data foundation for higher-level disciplines such as price intelligence, dynamic pricing, and MAP enforcement — without reliable monitored data, every downstream pricing decision inherits errors.
